     Clefunte Amelie Roy was born on 1 December 1837 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.2 She was the daughter of Pierre Ulger Roy and Nanette Zilia Nezat.2 She married Marcel Nezat, son of Pierre Alexandre Nezat and Virginie Marcel Patin, on 9 April 1860 at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.3 She and Marcel Nezat were related to each other as first cousins and second cousins. She appeared on the census of 16 June 1870 at 1st Ward, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, in the household of her husband Marcel Nezat.4 She died on 5 April 1873 at Port Barre, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, at age 35 years, 4 months and 4 days.5,6 She was the subject of a succession filed on 7 June 1875 at St. Landry Parish Courthouse, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.7
