Irene Adams was born on 26 February 1833 at Thomasville, Thomas County, Georgia.2,1,3 She was the daughter of Abel Marion Adams and Elizabeth Paramore.3 She and Joseph Marion Childers came to Texas in 1849 from Thomas County, Georgia.4 She married Joseph Marion Childers, son of John S. Childers and Permelia Burton, on 4 March 1850 at Jasper County, Texas.5 She and Joseph Marion Childers may have been married on 4 April 1850 at Jasper County, Texas.6,1 She appeared on the census of 23 September 1850 at Jasper County, Texas, in the household of her husband J. M. Childers.7 She appeared on the census of 3 August 1860 at Jasper County, Texas, in the household of her husband Marion Childers.1 She appeared on the census of 3 September 1870 at Subdivision 23, Jasper County, Texas, in the household of her husband Marion Childers.8 She appeared on the census of 21 June 1880 at Pct 1, Jasper County, Texas, in the household of her husband Marion Childers.9 She became a widow upon the death of her husband, Marion Childers, on 27 March 1897 at Jasper County, Texas.10,11 She appeared as the mother-in-law on the census of 9 June 1900 in the household of John B. Caldwell and Nancy C. Caldwell at Pct 1, Jasper County, Texas.2 She died on 30 March 1913 at Jasper County, Texas, at age 80 years, 1 month and 4 days.3 She was buried at Hancock Cemetery, end of CR 093, Jasper County, Texas.12,13
