     Baltazar Marks was born circa 1785 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1 He was the son of Baltazar Marks and Marie Anne Gaspard. He married Marie Louise Stelly, daughter of Jean George Stelly and Christine Marie Edelmeier, on 28 May 1805 at St. Landry Catholic Church, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.2
