     Sarah Cecile Burleigh was born in October 1781 at St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1 She was the daughter of Robert Burleigh and Isabelle Miller.2 She married Jean Baptiste Stelly, son of Jean Baptiste Stelly and Marie Magdalene Ritter, on 5 January 1799 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1,3 She died in May 1805 at St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, at age 23 years and 7 months.1 She was buried at St. Landry Catholic Cemetery, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1
