Etta Nezat

     Etta Nezat was born on 18 October 1902 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.^1,2 She was the daughter of Pierre Zacharie Nezat and Marie Celina Duplechin. She appeared on the census of 24 February 1920 in the household of Pierre Zacharie Nezat and Celina Duplechin at 1st Ward, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.³ She married Sylvain Devillier, son of Morris Joseph Devillier and Aline Marie Wyble, on 9 September 1923.² She became a widow upon the death of her husband, Sylvain Devillier, on 21 March 1960 at New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.⁴ She died on 6 January 1994 at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, 7777 Hennessy Boulevard, Baton Rouge, East Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, at age 91 years, 2 months and 19 days.¹ She was buried on 8 January 1994 at Bellevue Memorial Park, Sunset, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.¹
