     Stephen Brown was born circa 1784 at South Carolina.2 Stephen Brown was also known as Esthienne Brown.3 He was the son of Moses Brown and Eugenie Martin.1 He may have been born at Lunenburg County, Virginia.1 He married Emerente Patin, daughter of Antoine B. Patin and Catherine Donna Bossier, on 9 August 1810 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.1 He died from a shotgun wound in the morning on 8 March 1824 at his home at St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.2 He was buried on 9 March 1824 at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Cemetery, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.2 He was the subject of a succession filed on 10 March 1824 at St. Martin Parish Courthouse, 400 S Main Street, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.4
