     Francois Rivet was born circa 1800.1 He was the son of Vital Ustace Rivet and Marie Euphrosine Lanclos.2 He and Marie Sidonise Guidroz may have been married on 11 October 1823 at St. Landry Parish Courthouse, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1,3 He married Marie Sidonise Guidroz, daughter of Jean Baptiste Guidroz and Gabrielle Sidonise Chautin, on 13 October 1823 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Grand Coteau, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.4 He was the subject of a succession filed on 17 June 1828 at St. Martin Parish Courthouse, 400 S Main Street, St. Martinville, St. Martin Parish, Louisiana.5
