     Emilie Janis was born circa 1845.1 She was the daughter of Jerome Latour Janis and Marie Melanie Bellard.1 She married Harvey Mattee on 7 August 1865 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 114 N. Bienvenu Street, Church Point, Acadia Parish, Louisiana.1
