     Emerante Hebert was born on 23 January 1814 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Joachim Hebert I and Marie Francois Philippe Fontenot.1 She married William Reed, son of Samuel Reed and Marie LeJeune, on 30 December 1828 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1,2 She was listed as the wife in the succession of William Reed on 23 August 1842.3
