He may have died on 27 December 1761 at New Roads, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana, at age 60. He died on 27 December 1761 at New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana, at age 60 years, 9 months and 7 days.5 He was buried on 27 December 1761 at St. Francis of Pointe Coupee Catholic Church and Cemetery, New Roads, Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana.3
