     Marie Philomene Nezat was born on 21 June 1892 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.2,3,1 She was the daughter of Marcel Nezat and Marie Alicia Marks. She and Bertha Josephine Nezat were twins. She appeared as a daughter on the census of 25 June 1900 in the household of Marcel Nezat and Marie Alicia Nezat at 1st Ward, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.4 She married William Smith on 25 July 1921 at Orange County, Texas.5,3 She became a widow upon the death of her husband, William Smith, on 5 June 1927 at Richland Parish, Louisiana.6,7 She died of cancer at 3:35 pm on 1 December 1951 at her home at 628 Dorchester Street, Houston, Harris County, Texas, at age 59 years, 5 months and 10 days.2,3,1 She was buried at St. Landry Catholic Cemetery, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1
