     Andre Meche was born in 1731 at Lougres, Doubs, France.1,2,3 He was the son of Andre Meche.1 In 1764, Andre Meche emigrated from France to Pennsylvania.1 He appeared on the census of 1764 at Philadelphia, Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.4 In 1769,Andre Meche arrived on a ship in New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana.2,1 He married Anne Marie Dorothee Haverstock in 1772 at St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.1,5 He was the godfather of Marie Marks baptized on 23 June 1799 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.6 He died on 26 October 1815 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana, at age 84 years.1,7 He was buried at St. Landry Catholic Cemetery, Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.1
