     Jean George Meche was born in 1783.1,2 As of 1783, Jean George Meche was also known as Georges.2 He was the son of Andre Meche and Anne Marie Dorothee Haverstock.2 He married Elizabeth Hayes, daughter of Hamalagar Hayes and Elizabeth Traitt, circa 1800.3 He was the godfather of Andre Placide Marks baptized on 18 October 1804 at Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana.4 He died in 1819 at age 36 years.1
