     Lelia Caroline Pope was born on 26 September 1878 at Taylor, Columbia County, Arkansas.1,2 Lelia Caroline Pope also went by the name of Lee. She was the daughter of Henry Hampton Pope and Charity Caroline Hayes.1 She appeared as a daughter on the census of 11 June 1880 in the household of Hamp Pope and Charity Pope at Georgia Township, Columbia County, Arkansas.3 She married J. A. Kirby on 16 March 1898 at Columbia County, Arkansas.4,2 She died on 12 August 1977 at Springhill, Webster Parish, Louisiana, at age 98 years, 10 months and 17 days.2 She was buried at Harmony United Methodist Church Cemetery, Rocky Mound, Columbia County, Arkansas.2
