John Peery was born in 1733 at Somerset County, Maryland
.1 He was the son of James Peery and Mary Reeves.1 He lived at St. George's Hundred, New Castle County, Delaware.1 He began military service on 3 May 1758 at Dover, Kent County, Delaware, enlisting for the Expedition against Quebec under Captain Benjamin Noxon. This command did not reach Quebec. It was quartered on Lake Champlain during one winter and finally mustered out of the service.1 He was a veteran of the Revolutionary War as a member of the Lieutenant Colonel's Company, Delaware Regiment, Col. David Hall, in 1779.1 He administrated the will of William Peery in 1800.1 He died in 1801 at New Castle County, Delaware, at age 68 years.1
