     Mary Hester Pope was born on 25 April 1872 at Pickler, Columbia County, Arkansas.2,3,1 She was the daughter of Henry Hampton Pope and Charity Caroline Hayes.1 Mary Hester Pope also went by the name of Hessie. She appeared as a daughter on the census of 11 June 1880 in the household of Hamp Pope and Charity Pope at Georgia Township, Columbia County, Arkansas.1 She married George Cochrell on 27 December 1891 at Columbia County, Arkansas.3 She died on 3 March 1911 at age 38 years, 10 months and 6 days.2 She was buried at Spring Branch Baptist Church Cemetery, CR 22 South, Taylor, Columbia County, Arkansas.2
