     James Day Hopkins was born at 4 pm on 13 February 1883.1 He was the son of Preston Lafayette Hopkins and Mary Thompson.1 He married Beulah Laura Kenney on 24 December 1904 at Brenham, Washington County, Texas.1 He was the informant on the death certificate of Mary Hopkins on 15 January 1931 at Jefferson Davis Hospital, Houston, Harris County, Texas.2 He died on 17 January 1953 at Los Angeles County, California, at age 69 years, 11 months and 4 days.3
